Day 3 at IGEM 2024 wrapped up on a high note with the Youth Climate Adaptation Forum by UNICEF, inspiring youth-led climate action. YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad shared a heartfelt message about our responsibility to future generations. We also saw the exciting launch of the KL Eco Film Fest x AirKita with the theme “Water: Sustainably Yours.” Finally, the IGEM 2024 Appreciation Hi-Tea celebrated this year’s successes, with a look ahead to IGEM 2025. 🎊

We celebrated IGEM’s 15th anniversary and recognition by the Malaysian Book of Records as the “Longest Running Green Technology Exhibition.” YB Rafizi Ramli highlighted Malaysia’s leadership in regional CCS efforts and upcoming MoUs to advance transboundary carbon capture.

MoU exchanges between MGTC and Sarawak Energy, plus MIDA’s announcement of Quality Green Projects, added to the day’s achievements. There were also plenty of Pocket Talks across the three Innovation Stages, with quick, engaging sessions on sustainability.

Commemorating World Ozone Day 2024, this event raises awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and the collective actions needed to combat ozone depletion.

Youth Climate Adaptation Forum (YCAF):
The forum marks the latest chapter in UNICEF’s 70-year legacy of advocating for children’s rights in Malaysia and it aims to tackle the urgent challenge of climate change, mobilizing young people to take meaningful action and ensure their voices are heard.
