ECORIDE Sdn Bhd has inked an agreement with Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) 2022 held in conjunction with International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2022).

Through its Shift Infrastructure programme, Ecoride has been given a one-year exclusive right to operate EV charging stations at selected Mydin branches.

Its first installation will be at Mydin Mutiara Rini in Johor Baru, Johor in December.

This will continue at Mydin Pelangi Indah and Mydin Taman Rinting, also in Johor Baru. There are plans to do the same at Mydin USJ in Subang Jaya, Selangor, in the near future.

“Today marks another milestone of our effort to provide seamless end-to-end EV experience in Malaysia,” said Ecoride managing director Syed Ahmad Syed Mustafa.

“The transition to an electric fleet can be a challenge.

“Businesses and operators normally don’t know where to begin. We want to change that by offering a holistic solution that is bespoke to their business and operational needs.

“From choosing the right vehicle to charging infrastructure, we can deliver the simplicity and scalability for businesses in electrifying their fleet,” he said.

“This partnership is one of our efforts as an agent of change to transform the mobility sector and will also enhance the value of Mydin to its customers by integrating a sustainable mobility ecosystem in their shopping experience,” Syed Ahmad added.

Together with Mydin, Ecoride has pledged to deliver a sustainable impact to the community.

“Mydin recognises the national agenda of environmental, social and governance (ESG) and to keep the interest to explore better integration of ESG in strategising our business forward,” said Mydin property and finance director Mohd Azwan Ahimmat.

“The collaboration with Ecoride shows our commitment towards the national zero carbon emission aspiration through green initiatives, and we are committed to take the roadmap further across all Mydin malls in future,” he added.
